Each Night King was all but undefeatable alone (let alone together, and not even considering the Dark God Himself). One thing my players began to hit on was that they only way to really "win" against the ENEMY might be to pit Night King vs. And who knows, maybe my players thought they might GET that chance?Īs a more helpful side note on "what to do". The player characters knew they couldn't "win", that there would be no final epic battle that could stop the ENEMY. to the characters and players, not just players paying lip service. In the end my players knew my take on Midnight meant that they weren't fighting to "win" they were fighting so that their children's children might have a chance one day to do something to change or retake the world.īut it wasn't about being the big damned hero as in every other D&D game, it was about hope for a better tomorrow for real. The heroes in my campaign we incredibly flawed and some willing to fight fire with fire (which ultimately destroyed them and the campaign). and it wasn't unfun for them, it was real and horrible and they saw lite glimmers of hope on occasion. In my campaign my PCs ran or hid from nearly everything until 8-10th level. They can fight back but usually at great danger or cost. players should know going in that EVERYTHING in the world is bigger and badder than they are. #CINEMATIC UNISYSTEM COMPILED PDF PRO#
